A Struggle of a Fictional Percussion Ensemble

The program struggled underneath the financial and staff issues, like Atlas and his great burden. And it seemed as though this upcoming season was the program’s own Battle of Waterloo that had even more on the line than Napoleon ever did.

If you’ve ever seen a percussion ensemble, you would see dedicated, enthusiastic players that were ready to take on the upcoming season. They are led by the greatest percussion staff and they all have great values that they live and die by.

How do they handle issues? Like mature people would, with patience, and no miscommunication.

But losing some of most important staff leaves the whole ensemble in panic and jeopardy. The members are left with rumors and had to suffer under the tough bureaucratic school board.

The members don’t know what really happened as their band directors try to carefully explain to them What might be happening. It made the ensemble want to revolt like the French peasants under Louis XVI’s rule. Fortunately, they remembered to keep their cool and remember that their ensemble wasn’t just an ensemble, but a family of brothers and sisters.

One ordinary day, they found out some truth. Two of their instructors would not be able to come back to teach their second semester. The percussion ensemble was fortunate enough to find another instructor to take the place of the two. Some members still didn’t feel like it was the right thing. Others were happy that they were fortunate enough to find someone who could help them for their next seasons to come.

With a skip in his beat and a smile on his face, the new person came in, introduced himself, and helped the ensemble get back on their feet. The ensemble calmed down and accepted him with a big heart. Together, they knew their next season would be great.
